A fighter from the Free Syrian Army sits in an apartment on the lookout for Syrian Army tanks in the neighborhood of Salaheddin in Aleppo, Syria, on Tuesday, July 31, 2012. Fierce fighting erupted in Aleppo, Syria's commercial capital and its most populated city, one and a half weeks ago as FSA fighters poured in to the city with weapons to fight against the Syrian Army. Many of the battles have taken place in restive neighborhoods such as Salaheddin, which saw the biggest anti-government protests throughout the revolution. Almost all of the estimated 200,000 residents have fled to other areas of Aleppo for safety, and many men have stayed to fight alongside the FSA.
